Use this dialog box to set advanced properties for polling and tracing. You can access this dialog box by clicking Advanced on the Connection Configuration dialog box.

If the network is inadvertently disconnected, the network polling automatically attempts to reconnect. This option is disabled by default.
The Network polling option should only be used by customers who use BARR/PRINT CHANNEL for IPDS in conjunction with BARR/PRINT390 for IPDS. This option must also be enabled in the BARR/PRINT390 for IPDS software.
Starts tracing the network and channel adapter automatically when a connection is started.
Tracing may cause performance degradation and should only be used for troubleshooting purposes.
Off – Disables tracing. This is selected by default.
Short – Automatically starts a short network and channel trace when the connection is started. This trace provides general information.
Long – Automatically starts a long network and channel trace when the connection is started. This trace provides detailed information.
Captures internal trace information in a trace file. The file will be saved in the \\Program Files\Common Files\Barr\Trace folder. The trace file name will be the name of the service, with a .trc extension. After you capture the trace, you can use the Diagnostics Utility to send the file to Barr Systems Technical Support. This option should only be enabled if a Barr Systems support analyst advises you to do so. This option is disabled by default.

Specifies the number of idle seconds to wait before the connection begins the disconnect process. When the disconnect process is complete, the channel state changes to Sharing and the physical printer is available for use by another host. The channel will remain in the Sharing state until the host submits another job and the connection to the physical printer is reestablished. This option is disabled by default.
