Getting started

Printers

Adding a Windows printer to use with BARR/SPOOL is similar to adding a printer for use with any other Windows program. Local printer definitions, for devices connected directly to your computer, include a port and device driver. Network printer definitions connect you to printers defined elsewhere on the network. See the Connecting to a network printer topic for more information.

To add a Windows printer, you must be a member of the Administrators group. If you are using Windows 2000, you can also be a member of the Printer Operators or Server Operators group or a Power User on a workstation.
